A six-panel Sunday page by Bill Conselman and Charlie Plumb, *Ella Cinders* follows a Cinderella-inspired protagonist navigating modern urban life. Here, Ella reflects on her scattered thoughts while preparing a meal, then encounters a mysterious stranger offering assistance. The strip employs sequential panel layout with speech balloons to advance plot and character development—standard vocabulary of newspaper comics that shaped the medium's visual language. Running from 1925 to 1939, *Ella Cinders* exemplified the daily and Sunday serial strips that preceded and directly informed comic book storytelling, establishing recurring characters, episodic narratives, and the graphic conventions readers would encounter in pulp and newsstand publications.
