A police procedural comedy strip following a boy detective and law enforcement officials investigating a missing-person case. The narrative unfolds across five panels with escalating stakes: a landlord's complaint about floor damage leads to a search for clues, then to the threat of city liability, and finally to the detective's darkly comic promise to find a "yawning cavity" in the suspect's storefront. The strip demonstrates the visual vocabulary developed by newspaper comics: sequential panels advancing plot, varied compositions, speech balloons conveying both exposition and character voice, and recurring character types (boy protagonist, cop, authority figures).
