Harold Teen
· June 16, 1925

A Sunday strip following Harold Teen and his wife through domestic comedy and social encounters. The panels show Harold meeting an old friend named Nelson, with sequences moving from home to street to bank, showcasing the visual conventions that became standard in comic strips: sequential panels, speech balloons, recurring characters in everyday situations. By the mid-1920s, newspaper comics had established the language of modern sequential art—panel borders guiding narrative flow, dialogue advancing plot, and character-driven humor spanning multiple installments. Harold Teen typified the suburban comedy strips that dominated Sunday papers, offering middle-class readers familiar scenarios rendered through the emerging grammar of comics.
