Bill Didn't Wait!
This Sunday page strips follows Major Wilkins and a character named Bill through a domestic comedy of missed connections. Wilkins sends Bill on an errand, but Bill departs before hearing the complete instructions—setting off a chain of misunderstandings that plays out across six panels. The strip's narrative unfolds through speech balloons and sequential action, employing the visual vocabulary that newspaper comics had standardized by the 1910s: clear panel divisions, expressive line work, and recurring characters whose personalities drive the humor. Such strips appeared weekly in Sunday editions, building a loyal readership and establishing the formal conventions that would later define comic books.
