The Tiny Tribune Sunday Comic Strip
· October 25, 1919

This Sunday strip page demonstrates the visual vocabulary that emerged from newspaper comics in the early twentieth century: multiple panels arranged in sequence, speech balloons advancing narrative, and recurring characters in absurdist situations. The left panel shows a character holding prohibition signs; the center features a slapstick automotive scene with action lines; the right contains smaller domestic vignettes with a cast of comic types. The hand-lettered typography and bold linework typify the period's aesthetic. Sunday pages like this served as a primary entertainment medium and influenced the development of sequential art and visual storytelling that would define the comic book form.
