Loony Literature
A six-panel Sunday strip following Bad Bill's misadventures across a surreal landscape. The protagonist encounters a series of increasingly absurd obstacles—a plane collision, a giant boot, galloping horses, sweeping horizons rendered as solid objects, and three red-headed figures emerging from a globe—before returning home to celebrate. The strip employs sequential panel layout with explanatory captions beneath each scene, a visual strategy that defines early newspaper comics. Character recurrence and visual gags propel the narrative forward, while exaggerated linework and grotesque figures establish the anarchic tone typical of early 20th-century comic supplements that preceded the comic book format.
