Minute Movies

A Sunday page of *Minute Movies*, a strip that distilled narrative into six-panel vignettes. Each episode—whether a royal wedding, an airship adventure, or a slapstick office scene—unfolds through sequential art with speech balloons and sight gags. The strip exemplifies how newspaper comics of the 1920s refined the visual language developed in earlier decades: panel borders direct eye movement, dialogue appears in balloons anchored to speakers, and recurring gags build reader familiarity. These daily and Sunday pages were the scaffolding of the comic book form, training audiences in how to read images as sequential narrative.
