Mr. Titus Wad Sure is One Frugal Guy!
A four-panel Sunday strip depicting Mr. Titus Wad's penny-pinching antics on the golf course. The protagonist attempts to retrieve his golf ball from a water hazard using increasingly improvised methods—first a long stick, then a makeshift hook—before resorting to diving himself, only to be stopped by a concerned bystander. The strip's visual storytelling relies on sequential panels, expressive caricature, and dialogue balloons to convey comic timing and character. Newspaper comic strips of this era established the formal language of modern comics: recurring protagonists, sight gags driven by personality, and panel-to-panel narrative flow that would become foundational to the medium's development.
