Outbursts of Everett True
A domestic comedy strip centered on the volatile Everett True and his exasperated wife. Here, True objects to her shoe shopping while surrounded by their chaotic household—children underfoot, a cat, and the general pandemonium of early twentieth-century family life. The strip employs the visual vocabulary that defined newspaper comics: sequential panels, speech balloons, and a recurring cast of characters whose personalities drove readers back daily. Published in the Sunday pages, such strips established the foundational grammar of comic art and proved the commercial viability of serialized humor, paving the way for the comic book industry to follow.
