Outbursts of Everett True
· August 25, 1905

A daily comic strip centered on the irascible Everett True, whose exaggerated reactions to minor social annoyances drive the humor. Here True complains about tailoring problems while a haberdasher offers practical suggestions—advice True dismisses with characteristic fury. The strip uses the visual vocabulary established in newspaper comics: sequential panels, speech balloons, expressive cartooning, and a recurring protagonist whose volatile personality generates gags across multiple installments. Published during the medium's formative years, such strips helped establish the conventions that would define American comics for decades.
