Outbursts of Everett True

A two-panel comic strip featuring Everett True, a bowler-hatted character prone to violent reactions in everyday situations. In the first panel, True visits J. Bunsor's office and learns the manager's wishes; in the second, he explosively demolishes the manager's desk in rage. The strip exemplifies early newspaper comics' visual vocabulary: sequential panels advancing narrative, speech balloons carrying dialogue, and exaggerated physical comedy. Everett True strips, which ran in Sunday papers and dailies, showcased the slapstick humor and anarchic energy that defined comic strip humor in the 1900s, before the form's migration into collected comic books.
