Smitty — Continuous Performance

This strip follows Smitty, an office boy whose misadventures drive the humor. The four-panel sequence shows a classic setup: windows left open during painting, paint tossed indoors, and Smitty blamed for the mess after repeatedly tipping his hat to the boss. The strip employs the visual conventions established by newspaper comics—sequential panels, speech balloons, and a recurring cast—that became foundational to comic book storytelling.
