The Teasers: Bobby Discovers the Secret
· April 16, 1905

This six-panel strip follows Bobby's discovery of hidden children and the chaos that ensues. The narrative unfolds through sequential panels with speech balloons, establishing cause and effect across frames: Bobby spots the stowaways, alerts other children, they scatter in panic, a hornet's nest is disturbed, and adults arrive to restore order. The strip demonstrates early newspaper comic conventions—recurring child characters, domestic settings, slapstick consequences, and visual storytelling that propels readers through the sequence. Such Sunday page strips were foundational to American comics, establishing the visual grammar of panels and balloons that would define the medium.
