Tenderfoot Tim Puts One Over on the Ferocious Wolves
This Sunday comic strip follows Tenderfoot Tim, a greenhorn in the wilderness, as he outwits a pack of wolves through quick thinking and alarm-raising rather than force. The narrative unfolds across eight panels with sequential action: Tim enlists a miner's help, warns of the approaching threat, flees indoors, and ultimately alerts his pursuer to the danger of gunfire. The strip employs the visual conventions established in early newspaper comics—distinct panels, speech balloons, and a recurring protagonist navigating exaggerated frontier perils. The artwork uses bold ink lines and cross-hatching typical of turn-of-the-century Sunday pages, when comic strips were a primary medium for serialized humor and adventure before the comic book format emerged.
