Design for a Platter

This ornamental platter design showcases the elaborate aesthetic vocabulary of Gilded Age tableware. The hand-drawn composition combines a flowing, organic border with neoclassical scrollwork and geometric patterning—hallmarks of late nineteenth-century porcelain decoration. Two oval portrait medallions feature hand-tinted female profiles in the fashion of the era, while floral reserves punctuate the design.
