Mountain Landscape Study

This atmospheric landscape sketch by American artist Miner Kilbourne Kellogg depicts a volcanic mountain rising from water, rendered in ink wash with delicate hatching. Kellogg (1814–1889) trained as both a painter and engraver in New York before establishing himself as a landscape artist and illustrator.
