This penny weekly serialized *Royal Greens: Scout of the Susquehanna*, a frontier adventure tale typical of mid-Victorian popular fiction. Illustrated with wood engravings and printed in dense columns, they mixed serialized fiction with news, advertisements, and theatrical reviews.
