This issue of 10-Story Detective features eight crime and mystery stories. The cover novelet, "Trigger Man from Tarawa" by Norman A. Daniels, follows Marine Corporal Dick McKay, discharged from Pacific combat, who returns home carrying a dying friend's final message for two people—including attorney George Cunningham. McKay's delivery mission becomes dangerous when organized murder surfaces. Other stories include "Rogues' Gallery Hanging" by Tom Marvin about con artists, "Self-Made Mankiller" by Ken Lewis involving a forged suicide note, "Holocaust House" by Gene D. Robinson about inherited family curse, and shorter works by Joe Archibald, David M. Norman, Emil Petaja, Robert S. Fenton, and Fergus Truslow. All stories center on homicide, murder schemes, and criminal enterprise. The issue also contains advertisements for insurance policies, educational correspondence courses, and automotive repair manuals.
