Pulp Adventure Magazine Cover, January 1950
· January 1950

This document is not a pulp magazine but rather a declassified military report from January 1950 concerning a UFO sighting. It consists of official U.S. Air Force correspondence forwarding an eyewitness account from two observers at the Merchant Marine School of the Seamen's Church Institute in New York. The witnesses reported observing what they believed to be a "flying saucer" on January 2, 1950, around 10 p.m. The object remained stationary in the clouds at approximately 350 feet altitude, bearing northwest (340° true) from Brooklyn, and emitted a marked bluish glow for roughly fifty seconds. The report was forwarded through official military channels to Air Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for investigation, with information copies distributed to relevant Air Force intelligence offices.
