This document is not a pulp magazine but rather declassified U.S. Air Force correspondence from 1950 concerning an unidentified flying object photographed over Manhattan. The file documents an official investigation into a photograph taken on March 20, 1950, from near the Queensboro Bridge, showing an unusual object in the night sky. The Air Force's photographic analysts concluded the object was the moon, with its strange appearance caused by a long-exposure time exposure (estimated five to ten minutes) combined with cloud cover obscuring portions during exposure. A ground vehicle's light streak visible in the photograph's corner further supported this explanation. The correspondence tracks the photo's origin through Underhill Studio in New York and includes interviews with the photographer and studio owner regarding the image's authenticity and circumstances of capture.
