This document is a U.S. Air Force Intelligence Information Report (AF Form 112) dated May 1953 concerning an unidentified flying object sighted near Ernest Harmon Air Force Base in Newfoundland on May 34, 1953, at 0150Z. A Canadian civilian woman, attracted by the rotating beacon noise, observed a metallic football-shaped object approximately four feet long and two feet thick traveling at low altitude at high speed. The sighting lasted two to three seconds. The object traveled southeast, disappearing behind post office buildings. No lights, trails, or sounds were noted. Calculations estimated speed at 1,000–2,000 miles per hour. Flight plan checks ruled out known aircraft, prompting evaluation as an unidentified flying object.
