Pulp Magazine Adventure

This document is not a pulp magazine. Rather, it comprises official U.S. Air Force Project 10073 record cards and correspondence from 1957, constituting the bureaucratic evaluation of submitted stone samples for potential meteorite classification and connection to UFO sightings. The materials document examinations by mineralogist Charles B. Sclar and others who subjected submitted rocks to analysis according to criteria including aerodynamic flow patterns and compositional study. Multiple submissions yielded conclusions that the stones were not meteorites: one was deemed at least 100 years old and of no UFO intelligence value; another was identified as volcanic "bomb" material from Canadian Shield or Appalachian regions; a third was conclusively determined to be indurated sedimentary rock with bedding planes, pebbles, and granitic inclusions—lacking meteorite characteristics. The file documents systematic official procedures for evaluating public submissions.
