Amazing Stories, March 1959

This is not a pulp magazine issue but rather declassified U.S. Air Force documentation from Project 10073 (the Blue Book UFO investigation program). The pages contain official Air Intelligence Information Reports (AF Form 112) dated March 1959, submitted by the 376th Bombardment Wing at Lockbourne Air Force Base. The reports document a UFO sighting near Dublin, Ohio on March 8, 1959, observed by a public accountant. The object was described as greenish-white, approximately one-tenth the size of the moon, silent, traveling west for approximately four seconds before disappearing at the horizon. The observer noted it resembled the recently-observed satellite Sputnik but considerably larger and brighter. Weather conditions and winds aloft at multiple altitudes are recorded. The forms include standardized evaluation checkboxes for determining whether the sighting represented a balloon, aircraft, astronomical phenomenon, or remained unknown.
