Adventure Magazine Cover, August 1961
This document is not a pulp magazine but rather U.S. government records related to UFO sightings. It contains Project 10073 record cards (the Air Force's Blue Book UFO investigation system) documenting witness accounts of aerial phenomena. The primary report describes a telephone call from a Port Hibougamou, Quebec resident employed by Fecteau Airways who witnessed an explosion approximately 49 miles northwest of Chibougamou on August 2, 1961. The witness reported the explosion lasted three seconds, followed by an object shooting from the flash and leaving a smoke trail visible for fifteen seconds. A similar explosion had reportedly occurred in the same vicinity on August 1, 1961, causing a forest fire. The documentation includes standard investigation procedures, weather notations, and distribution to military and intelligence agencies including the CIA and NSA.
