"The Duke and the Ducats" by Thomson Burtis features Tex MacDowell and Duke Daly, Border Air Patrol flyers investigating a shady deal in a Texas oil town. W.C. Tuttle contributes "By Order of Buck Brady," a tale of a whittling sheriff. Clark Brockman's "The White Elephant" is set in Siamese jungles. Frank Richardson Pierce offers "The Ice Goes Out," an Alaskan story, while George Allan England launches "The Roaring Horn," a five-part serial about perilous seas. Additional stories include Leonard H. Nason's "Free Wood," "Especially Dance Hall Women" by Alma and Paul Ellerbe (mining camps), H.P.S. Greene's aviation tale "In Line of Duty," Walt Coburn's Montana blizzard narrative "The Man Who Hated Himself," Donald A. Cadzow's "Ghost Island," and Charles Gilson's "The Thraldom of Singan," a Malay Peninsula novelette. The issue includes poetry, department sections, and period advertisements.
