This issue of *Adventure* magazine (Vol. LXIII, No. 5, August 15th) contains seven stories and features. The lead is "Brown Sees Rio" by Norman Springer, a novelette about an eighteen-year-old naval fireman first glimpsing Rio de Janeiro during a cruise carrying a diplomatic envoy. "The Kinka" by Thomson Burtis concerns the air mail service. Other works include "Good Medicine" (Western story by Harry G. Huse), "Men Make Mistakes" (China Seas novelette by H. Bedford-Jones), "The Kile" by Water J. Coburn (cattle trail story), and "The Devil's Castle" by Arthur O. Friel (opening a three-part Orinoco adventure). Harold Lamb contributes "The Guest of Karadak," a complete Arabian novelette. Also featured: a poem by N. Suypam Cowley and stories by Edward L. McKenna and Robert Carse.
