The Argosy for February

This February 1909 issue of *The Argosy* contains one complete novel and six serial stories. "How Could It Be?" by Bertram Lebhar features a New York traffic squad member investigating what appears to be suicide but proves to be murder. The serials include "Trouble in Bunches" (Seward W. Hopkins), following misadventures arising from one American helping another; "Not for Sale" (Elbert D. Wiggin), involving an Austrian hussar's misadventures with an American party; and "Chicago by Thursday" (Edgar Franklin), following a businessman's final venture. Other serials feature Johnston McCulley's "Shipmates with Horror," about perils at sea; Harlan G. Steele's "An Elusive Legacy," about a photographer's unexpected fortune; and Albert Payson Terhune's "From Flag to Flag," set during the War of 1812. Ten short stories by various authors complete the issue. The coming March issue will feature "The Lure of Excitement" and a new serial, "Wanted by Uncle Sam," with various other short fiction.
