Bahamas Blue Book

This is the Blue Book for the Colony of the Bahamas, 1915–1916, a government reference work published in Nassau. The volume contains detailed schedules of taxes, duties, and fees specified under various colonial legislation, including comprehensive customs tariffs for imported goods (alcohol, provisions, livestock, manufactured items) assessed by unit or ad valorem rates, and export duties on goods including pineapple tops, cave earth, guana, and wrecked cargo. It further enumerates an extensive list of duty-free imports categorized by commodity type—from scientific instruments and agricultural machinery to fresh provisions, livestock, vessels' equipment, and personal baggage—along with exemptions for imperial and colonial government goods. The work also references legislative authorities governing these duties, including provisions under the Manufactories Encouragement Act of 1905.
