Ozark Alf, King of the Mountain; or, Featherweight Among the Outlaws

Meanwhile, Alfred Creswell arrives at the cavern to meet his son Alf, the gang leader. Creswell pressures Alf to kidnap his cousin Sophie, who has eloped with Frank Mallory and married him, fearing her husband will discover his illicit property dealings. Alf resists the scheme, preferring not to deepen his involvement in crime. The narrative interweaves the scouts' reconnaissance with family conflict over competing interests.
