Two experienced trappers—Buck Buckram and Dick Havens—discover their younger companion Dick Inglis murdered and staged as a decoy by Apaches near their Colorado River trapping camp. Deciding to remain through trapping season despite the danger, the men continue their work, though they later detect signs of Apache surveillance around their bark-and-log lodge.
