Catalog Note "Millions on the Turn" by W. R. After a chaotic skirmish involving lassoing and mounted pursuit, Foxton is captured by the Black Eagles gang, led by a calculating captain who recognizes him from wanted notices. The captain sentences Foxton to death for killing one of his men, with a bounty of one thousand dollars on his head. The young woman—apparently the captured gentleman's daughter—intervenes, pleading for Foxton's life and offering to ransom him. The captain counters with a five-thousand-dollar demand, which she cannot meet. The narrative breaks as Foxton faces execution.
