When his discontented first lieutenant, Merton, leads a mutiny to seize the ship and become pirates, Roy quells the uprising by firing grapeshot from a pivot gun, killing the mutineers. Later, spotting an Indian warrior besieged by armed men on shore—identified as Reef Buccaneers—Roy lands his boat crew to aid the lone fighter, opening fire on the attackers and ordering his men to assault the group while the Indian joins the counterattack.
