At the Travelers' Club, a group of gentlemen discussing buffalo habitat locations votes to send an investigating committee to America, appointing Jack, Professor Isaac Mole, Captain Cannon, and Mr. Twinkle to report on the animal's location. Jack welcomes the opportunity to follow Miss Van Hoosen to New York. Meanwhile, Lord Maltravers plays a prank on sleeping Professor Mole, burning his nose with a lit paper.
