Kenya Colony and Protectorate Blue Book
This is a 1936 government Blue Book from Kenya Colony and Protectorate, not a pulp magazine. It is an official administrative and fiscal reference document compiled by the government printer in Nairobi and published in 1937. The content comprises sections detailing Kenya's governmental structure, revenue sources, and regulatory frameworks during that year. The bulk of the document consists of detailed schedules of customs duties and tariffs organized by commodity class—animals and foodstuffs, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, textiles and apparel, and related goods—specifying duty rates expressed in shillings and cents or percentages. Also included are sections addressing population statistics, railways, postal services, education, medical institutions, and various licensing and registration requirements. The document functions as a comprehensive legal and economic registry of colonial governance mechanisms and trade regulations.
