Stageland: The Blue Book Magazine

This February 1914 issue of Blue Book Magazine contains three serialized novels: "For The Allinson Honor" by Harold Bindloss (adventure and romance in the Canadian wilderness featuring a man proving himself amid hardship), "Innocence" by Edwin Bliss (fifth installment depicting bohemian New York, where Landrum sells "Innocence" to a saloon-keeper and Esther loses her position), and "The Blue Lizard" by James Francis Dwyer (concluding episode with castaways facing a final struggle on a sinking island). One complete novelette, "The Red Secret" by Stanley M. Shaw, details detective Tillie solving a murder mystery and the riddle of lost rubies. Seventeen short stories include adventure and mystery tales featuring recurring characters: Blue-Funk Carson (African pioneer), Matt Bardeen (master diver), and Magnum (scientific consultant). Stories range from "Caviare and Corned Beef" (boxing/wordplay humor) to "A Sheriff on Probation" and "The Vanishing Gold."
