This issue of *Blue Ribbon Western* (Volume 8, Number 2) contains three fiction pieces and three factual articles about the American West. The lead work is "Shootin' Iron" by C.H. Campbell, a novel of first magazine publication featuring railroad protagonist Jeff Boone, who must ensure a railroad spur is completed while contending with both his feelings for Nora McQuade and her affection for a man working to sabotage the project. A short story by Lee Boren follows, concerning a character wrestling with pacifist doubts amid frontier violence. Three fact features—"Fifty Dollars on Faith" by J.A. Rickard, "Born to the Wild" by D.C. Kore, and "Bad Medicine for the Apache Kid" by Kenneth P. Wood—present historical accounts of Western figures and incidents.
