Blue Ribbon Western, December 1945 This issue of *Blue Ribbon Western* contains two western stories. The lead feature is T. W. Ford's novel "Dead Triggers," continuing the "Silver Kid" series. The protagonist, Solv Strant (the Silver Kid), a lawman sympathetic to the underdog, is deceived by associates of the criminal Deaf John Dean into believing a crime is being perpetrated by authorities. By the time Strant realizes the deception, an accident has paralyzed him, rendering his guns useless. The issue also includes "Guns Don't Lie" by Harry Van Demark, in which a gun rather than circumstantial evidence identifies a killer, and "Buck McKee—Bull Nurse" by Lee Floren, wherein Buck McKee and his companion Tortilla Joe undertake an unexpectedly peaceful mission. The magazine, edited by Robert W. Lowndes, was published bimonthly by Columbia Publications.
