Baltimore "Blue Book" Society Register (1906)
This is the seventeenth edition of Baltimore's "Blue Book," a comprehensive social register for the 1906 season. Compiled by Miss Caroline P. Remington and published by Lucas Bros. Press, the volume functions as an alphabetically arranged and street-indexed registry of Baltimore society members, with supplementary sections on principal churches, hotels, and leading institutions.
The register documents the city's elite social infrastructure through detailed listings of the Maryland Club, Baltimore Club, University Club, Athenaeum Club, and various hunt and country clubs including the Green Spring Valley Hunt Club, Elkridge Hunt Club, and Catonsville Country Club. It catalogs cotillion organizations like the Bachelors' Cotillon Club and Junior Cotillon, along with women's associations such as the Woman's Literary Club, Colonial Dames of America, and Daughters of the American Revolution. Appendices include marriage announcements, debutante presentations, financial institutions, and the staffs of Johns Hopkins University and Hospital.
