El Poder Invisible

This serialized science fiction novel, "El Poder Invisible" (The Invisible Power) by Keith Luger, follows Albert Foster, a cosmic radiation specialist at a space base, and his romantic entanglement. After Albert proposes to his colleague Judy Walker—who requests seven days to consider—a disembodied voice claims to be an invisible entity from the dead planet Hesperide. The entity reveals that Judy loves Dr. Robert Miller, not Albert, providing intimate details that prove its omniscience. Devastated and manipulated by this revelation, Albert rushes to Judy's bungalow, discovers Miller there, and in a jealous rage, kills Miller with an ice pick while screaming that "The Invisible Power spoke the truth." Inspector Mike Sullivan subsequently interrogates Judy about the cryptic circumstances surrounding the murder and Albert's mysterious statement about the invisible power.
