Museum Catalog Description "El muerto está muy sano" (The Dead Man Is Very Healthy) by Clark Carrados is a supernatural crime narrative. The story opens with Henry Q. Ormeson, a wealthy businessman, transported to Hell where he encounters Leo, a fallen angel serving as judge. Ormeson negotiates his return to the living world to settle accounts with people deserving damnation, permitted to use only his wits rather than violence. Meanwhile, five of Ormeson's associates—Noah Bentlane, Laura Willets, Dull Pine, Brigh Lowall, and Gale Hoskeens—discover that Ormeson has withdrawn three million dollars in cash. They theorize the money is hidden within his ornate mausoleum tomb. Two conspirators, Marvin Rawson and Chitty Courts, attempt the theft and discover Ormeson alive in his coffin. The narrative shifts to police detective John A. Dickins receiving an anonymous letter written in what appears to be blood, accusing Chitty Courts of poisoning her late husband. The investigation commences with journalist Faye Lytton visiting the police station.
