Selección Terror: Yo, hombre-lobo
"Yo, hombre-lobo" by Curtis Garland presents a supernatural horror narrative. The story follows Claude Bellamy, a rationalist scientist, who encounters the doctor Stuart Lennox at a country house party. Lennox recounts witnessing a werewolf attack on a young woman in the countryside—a brutal killing he attributes to lycanthropy rather than an animal attack, though locals and police dismiss it as wolf predation. Bellamy, skeptical of supernatural phenomena, argues that all events have rational explanations. The narrative then shifts to Bellamy's perspective as midnight approaches during a full moon; he undergoes a terrifying physical transformation—his hands become clawed, his face elongates into a bestial visage, his mind clouds with rage. As the werewolf emerges fully, Bellamy becomes consumed by bloodlust, particularly fixated on finding the woman he loves while human, whom he abhors in wolf form. The exact origin of his curse remains unexplained in this excerpt.
