Selección Terror: ¡Ha llegado Satán!

Museum Catalog Note This issue of *Selección Terror* (no. 292, October 1978) contains "¡Ha Llegado Satán!" ("Satan Has Arrived!") by Clark Carrados, a gothic mystery serialized in weekly installments. The narrative follows Spencer Bud Main, a young lawyer's clerk, who arrives at the remote Ballymore Hall estate during a violent storm to witness the signing of a will by the elderly, infirm Sir Arnold Flandryn. The will disinherits Flandryn's granddaughter Edith for scandalous behavior, leaving her only two hundred pounds while bequeathing the estate and fortune to his secretary Vince Kethrie. That night, Main overhears intimate conversation between the housekeeper Mavis Hook and groundskeeper Ned Parr through the fireplace flue. Sir Arnold dies unexpectedly. Main later encounters the disowned Edith working as a nightclub singer under an assumed name, and recognizes her when she is fired. Kethrie reveals he intends to secretly provide Edith with substantially more inheritance money.
