Selección Terror: En la boca del lobo
Catalog Entry This issue of *Selección Terror* (#465) presents "En la boca del lobo" (In the Wolf's Mouth) by Lou Carrigan, a psychological horror story set in Alaska. Melville Roark, a wealthy coal mine owner, hosts a farewell party at his remote home near Suntrana for friends before his young wife Mae and secretary Gordon Owells depart for Anchorage on business. During the gathering, Roark becomes increasingly cryptic and unsettling, expressing admiration for wolves, musing that he himself is "a wolf," and making veiled references to understanding Alaska's predatory nature. The other guests—including mine foreman Nelson, the Saunders couple, Reverend Forrester, and employee Louise—grow progressively uneasy. When Nelson extinguishes the lights to view the full moon and clear Alaskan night, the mood shifts ominously. Roark opens the windows to the cold darkness, intensifying Mae's terror and the gathering dread, as his behavior becomes increasingly menacing and enigmatic.
