Stevens hints at violent deaths in the Chapperton family history. When Evel warns against conducting séances and spirit recordings in the house, a piercing scream erupts. The family doctor dismisses her distress as youthful hysteria. Later, Norman invites Evel to a pub where she displays uncanny knowledge of his plans, and she diagnoses a stranger's acute liver attack before any apparent symptoms emerge, suggesting paranormal sensitivity.
