"Atrapada por la Locura" (Trapped by Madness), by Ada Coretti, is a mystery-thriller following private detective Stanley Duffy, who receives an anonymous letter with one thousand pounds and a photograph of a young woman named Helen. Instructed to ensure Helen safely reaches Webbertton via a scheduled coach, Duffy takes the assignment. He boards the coach and discovers Helen traveling with her cousin Ángela and Ángela's fiancé Dennis to visit their wealthy aunt Úrsula, who has summoned all her nieces and nephews. Helen appears frightened throughout the journey. At a roadside hotel overnight, Duffy learns Helen works as a shop assistant and is being relentlessly pursued by a wealthy man named Robin Clemmens, who claims to love her despite her repeated refusals. The narrative establishes an atmosphere of mystery and danger surrounding Helen as various characters converge at their destination.
