La maldición de los Barrymore
Museum Catalog Note *La Maldición de Los Barrimore* (The Curse of the Barrymores), by Adam Surray, is a horror serial published in November 1983 by Editorial Bruguera's weekly Terror collection. The narrative follows five private-school girls from San Francisco's Bartow Center School on a coastal excursion. When their bus breaks down near California cliffs, they discover a hidden beach and subsequently explore an isolated, deteriorating stone mansion built into the rock face. As they enter the house, one girl encounters a gaunt, pale man in antiquated dress who warns her the house is cursed, then vanishes. Inside, the group hears footsteps descending from the attic—suggesting the house is inhabited. The story establishes atmosphere through the remote setting, the mysterious figure's supernatural appearance, and mounting tension as the girls' trespassing triggers an encounter with the house's occupant.
