Brigitte en Acción
· 1976

"The Survivor" and "Brigitte in Action" are spy-thriller stories in this Spanish-language pulp magazine. The opening narrative, untitled but set in Colombia, depicts CIA agents Chet Lawrence and Harry Mowery delivering a briefcase of diamonds to collaborator Dámaso Arciniegas. They are ambushed and killed by three assassins—Otto, Lucien, and Hughes—who steal the three-million-dollar diamond cache. When ordered to eliminate Arciniegas's nine-year-old son Masito, the boy escapes during pursuit and hides among rocks by the sea, surviving as the criminals flee by helicopter. The second story introduces Brigitte Montfort, a glamorous journalist and Pulitzer Prize-winning international correspondent for the Morning News, who is secretly "Baby," a feared CIA agent. The narrative establishes her dual identity while she bathes in her New York apartment, conversing with her Chihuahua about life, aging, and love.
