Al borde de la nada
"Al Borde de la Nada" (At the Edge of Nothingness) by John K. H. Brunner This science fiction novel, presented in two sections, explores theories about the nature of time and human consciousness in the universe. The first section follows Red Hawkins, an artist with an aluminum prosthetic leg living near Three Waters, California, who encounters a mysterious flash of light one night. A French nurse named Chantal Váreze suddenly appears on his road, disoriented and claiming to be in London. Her dated letters confirm she left St. Peter's Hospital in London on March 13, 1957—only hours earlier by Greenwich time. The second section shifts to a cosmic war scenario involving temporal anomalies, where military units called Ancora teams fight enemy forces across space and time. A temporal wave destroys one team, scattering sixty specialists throughout history. Commander Magwareet and officer Artesha Wong struggle to manage the crisis while searching for the lost Burma and a mysterious entity called "the Being" that exists across four dimensions, suffering each time weapons are deployed against invaders.
