"Prison Espacial" (Part One) This Spanish-language science fiction serial opens with the starship Constellation, carrying 8,000 colonists, under attack by two Gern cruisers. After seven weeks of secret flight toward the planet Athena, explosions destroy the ship's engines and life support systems. Commander Lake, the sole surviving officer, announces they have twenty hours of breathable air remaining. The Gern commander boards and offers conditional surrender: skilled technicians will be transported to Athena for labor; the remainder—the "rejected"—will be abandoned on a similar planet with provisions. Families will be separated without exception. The narrative follows Irene Humbolt and her five-year-old son Billy as Gern soldiers divide the passengers. Irene is classified as rejected and forced from the ship; her husband Dale, working in the X-ray section, does not appear among the ejected colonists, suggesting his fate differs from hers. The rejected colonists are deposited on a desolate, high-gravity planet with frigid winds and snow-capped mountains. The story concludes with a man urging armed resistance.
