Museum Catalog Note
This issue of *Doble Juego* (No. 56, April 1983) features "Lucky Marty: Lucha hasta el fin" (Lucky Marty: Fight to the End), an action serial centered on motorcycle racing and endurance testing. The story opens with protagonist Roy MacKensy, an American expatriate in Australia, attempting a grueling 36-hour motorcycle endurance trial on the abandoned Albury circuit between Sydney and Canberra. Piloting the "Swam Rat"—a 550cc experimental motorcycle fueled by alcohol and nitrogen mixture capable of reaching 301 km/h—MacKensy aims to establish a new speed record with support from his mechanic Sean Cooper and the elderly circuit owner Acey Finlay and his daughter Heide. After exceeding 302 km/h, a tire blowout sends MacKensy airborne; he survives the crash with minor injuries, but Finlay, alarmed by the danger and concerned for his daughter's emotional wellbeing, abruptly withdraws support and expels MacKensy and Cooper from the property.
